Why bet on a clean win when you can back it up?

Betting on a clean win for a team does not always work out as hoped. To increase your chances of winning, there are so-called back-up variants. This article looks at the most popular approaches.

What is an Asian handicap and where does it come from?

This type of betting is not called “Asian” for nothing. This kind of betting was first made by gambling operators in Singapore, China and other Asian countries. Over time, this method has gained popularity all over the world. However, there are different types of fora. Let us consider them in a little more detail. In Europe, as well as in Britain, Asian handicaps are absolutely all types of handicaps. In the former Soviet Union countries Asian handicap is usually called a handicap, which in Europe is called the “Asian double handicap” or “quadruple”. Asian handicap has the form: F1 (+1.25) or F2 (-2.25).

Half and Full Handicaps

Handicap is an artificial advantage of one team over the other. It does not really exist. It is created by a bookmaker’s office in order to give the players the most interesting odds. Let us take a look at what the aforementioned handicaps look like. Half handicaps are F1 (+0.5) or F2 (+1.5).

Minus and plus handicaps

A handicap bet indicates that a certain team will defeat an opponent. The goal difference will be the number on which the player has wagered. A positive handicap works in a similar way. However, the team selected by the player is required to keep the score a certain number of goals apart.

Important: in case the score falls within the value specified in the handicap, the total bet will be calculated as a refund. This only applies to whole handicaps.

Zero handicap or handicap to zero

This is the most popular handicap in the different bookmakers. It is otherwise known as the “dead heat” in Europe. This bet is best used when a player believes that one team will win, but also thinks that there can be a draw. A zero handicap simply excludes a draw from the result. That is, if a player bet on a particular team to win, and the match result is a draw, the final bet is calculated as a return.

Those familiar with handicaps will find it easy to understand the operation of Asian betting. Asian handicap is a bet placed on two handicaps at the same time.

Consider a clear example of a zero handicap

Borussia Dortmund versus Bayern Munich. The punter thinks the other team will win by 90%, but there is still a 10% chance that they will not. In such a case, instead of betting on P2 (2.00), which is a huge risk, the odds can be set to F2 (0) at 1.50. The odds will then decrease by 0.5, but the risk will also get considerably lower. In the end, if the match ends in a draw, the money is returned to the player’s account.

Consider a clear example of an Asian handicap

A match between Liverpool and Manchester United. A client of the betting club thinks there are two possible outcomes of the match: a Liverpool win or a draw. In that case, an F (0) bet might be a good option. There is a “but”: if there is a draw, the player will earn 0%. That’s where the Asian handicap has to be applied. A bet in the form of F1 (+0.25) lets you make a profit even in the case of a draw. Even if the odds are lower, the bet will win in any case.

How do I pump up the odds?

Aside from the extra odds, the Asian form allows you to increase your odds. For instance, a bet with odds (-0.75) will be higher than one with odds (-0.5). A win by a margin of 2 or more goals will then result in the user winning by the higher odds. In case of winning by a margin of less than 2 goals, the bettor receives the winnings on two positions:

  1. A handicap (-0.5);
  2. Return (handicap -1).

What is the Backlash Strategy?

This is a backing strategy, which combines two possible patterns:

  • Express.
  • Ordinaries.

It consists of placing a single bet on three events and then placing a double bet on the same events but with the opposite result. Let’s consider a small example: the player in a Parlay took a win or a draw. In this case, the singles will be wins of opposite teams. The single bet can be placed at any time. For example, after the completion of the “press” or live, at the moment the event develops in the direction set in the express. It is also important that the events, on which a bettor makes bets, should take place at different times. This is done in order for the player to have the opportunity to bet on the matches from the express in a single variant. In this way, the player is almost always in the black (albeit a small one).

This option is most often used in the following games:

  1. Football.
  2. Hockey.
  3. Events where there is a “three-way 1×2”.

The last condition from the list above is a must, because, based on the strategy, it is the player who backs up.

What is bookmaker’s insurance (cashout)?

Some betting shops have official betting insurance. To use it, a person has to visit his personal office. In the list of bets made by him next to each of them there is a button “Sell bet” (the name may be different in different betting shops). By clicking on it, the player can find out the insurance price and set the desired percentage.

Another type of insurance from bookmakers is a cashout. It allows you to keep your profits or reduce your losses. This function works only in manual mode. It allows you to see the current offers of the betting company for a certain bet at a certain time. It is also important that the bettor can prescribe the desired amount. Once it is reached, the betting company will make an offer. In this case, the bet is sold automatically. The player’s participation is not required.

Summary

As you can see from the article, there are a large number of insurance bets that help the player to be in the minimum loss, and some options even leave in a small plus. Each user can easily choose the most convenient insurance strategy out of the ones listed above if he wants to.
